A MONUMENTAL SILVER MOUNTED COMMODE A VANTAUX AFTER GAUDREAUX

A monumental French commode a vantaux after the Model by Antoine-Robert Gaudreaux. The serpentine verde alpi marble top above a rocaille-framed Apollo mask and two pairs of serpentine drawers mounted with dragon and acanthus handles. The sides with pierced anthemion cartouches on acanthus-sheathed cabriole legs with bullrush scrolled sabots. The silver plated bronze mounts are of fine quality and detail, applied to an ebonised and hand burnished carcass.
